After a few weeks in my home Jaunt is starting to come out of his shell. Although shy, he loves the company of my 2 greys. They have really helped to build his confidence, especially on walks through the neighborhood. Btw, he's an excellent walker, doesn't pull at all. I can say that he is completely housebroken. Even though I have another male in the house, Jaunt has never marked. Actually, he doesn't even try to mark the the mail box posts or shrubs when we're out walking.
He's a quiet boy who spends the day curled up on a doggie bed next to Carlos while he works on the computer. He's still learning to relax around men (and boys), but he warms up quickly to the ladies. He's been okay with Misha, the mean old cat.
He has the cutest face that just melts your heart when he looks at you with those big brown eyes. This sweet boy has come a long way. Now it's time for him to jaunt right into your heart and home.

Oh, Jaunt, you are such a sweetheart. What a handsome hound you are. Someone will be truly blessed when they adopt you.
Hi Laura,
I am very interested in meeting Jaunt. he sounds a lot like my Old Mosey who passed away several years ago.
Do you know if he will be at any of the upcoming "meet and greets"? I see that there are a few taking place this weekend.
Also, any more info on this cutie?
Hi Wes,
Jaunt is in foster care. His foster mom will probably see this & could give you more info. I remember him from being at the adoption kennels before he went into foster care. As a kennel volunteer I got a chance to take him for walks in the evening. He is a sweet, sweet guy who is on the timid side. He isn't a spook though. I remember him more as a sensitive guy. If I looked away from him & turned to the side he would saunter up & put his head against my leg. It was quite endearing. With Jaunt, I think it would be so much fun to watch him blossom & really come into his own in his forever home.
We do not bring our available hounds to the meet & greets. Our group brings out our own adopted hounds so people can get to know the breed & what they are like as pets.
However, you can certainly meet Jaunt by making arrangements with our screening & placement folks. The first step is to complete an adoption application here (link to appl is in Step 2):

If you are interested in Jaunt & think you are ready to adopt again, I urge you to put in an application. And yes, Jaunt is just so cute. He seems like a really good guy & would be welcome in my house any time.
Go get him, Wes!!! (Uh, no pressure though. [vbg])
